You Don’t Have to Face Depression Alone
Depression is more than just feeling sad — it can affect every area of your life, from your relationships and work to your physical health and sense of self. At Trellis Counseling, our compassionate therapists are here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing, hope, and renewed purpose.
What Is Depression?
Depression is a common but serious mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It is not a sign of weakness or a character flaw — it is a medical condition that responds well to professional treatment.
Depression affects an estimated 1 in 5 adults at some point in their lives. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include:
- Persistent sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness
- Loss of interest or pleasure in activities
- Changes in appetite or weight
- Sleep disturbances (too much or too little)
- Fatigue and low energy
- Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
- Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
- Thoughts of death or suicide
Our Compassionate Approach to Treatment
At Trellis Counseling, we believe that healing happens in the context of a safe, trusting relationship. Our therapists take a whole-person approach — addressing not just your symptoms, but the underlying patterns, experiences, and beliefs that contribute to depression.
We tailor every treatment plan to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — identifying and reshaping negative thought patterns
- EMDR — processing trauma that may underlie depression
- Mindfulness-Based Therapy — building present-moment awareness
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — reconnecting with your values
- Somatic Approaches — addressing depression held in the body

Over time, your therapist will work collaboratively with you to:
- Understand the roots of your depression
- Develop coping strategies for difficult moments
- Rebuild a sense of meaning and connection
- Address any co-occurring anxiety, trauma, or grief
- Create a sustainable path toward lasting wellbeing
Sessions are typically 50 minutes and held weekly, though frequency can be adjusted to meet your needs. We offer both in-person and telehealth options.
